ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S) has placed a US$900 million order for four next-generation LNG carriers as it continues to expand its global fleet to meet rising demand for natural gas.

The 175,000-cubic-meter vessels will be built by Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, China, with delivery scheduled for 2029. They are expected to operate under long-term charter agreements, providing stable revenues while supporting reliable LNG supplies to international markets.

The latest order increases ADNOC L&S’ LNG newbuild program to 18 vessels. The company has already received six LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard, while another eight are under construction in South Korea for delivery from 2028 under 20-year charter contracts with ADNOC Gas.

During a visit to the Shanghai shipyard, ADNOC also marked the delivery of the first of four Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs), reinforcing its strategy to expand its presence across LNG and low-carbon shipping.

Since 2022, ADNOC L&S has committed more than US$5 billion to fleet expansion. The investment supports ADNOC’s ambition to grow its global LNG business and achieve 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG by 2035.
