Faure Gnassingbé, President of the Council of Togo, took part in the Chad Investment and Trade Forum in Abu Dhabi on Monday, dedicated to the launch of the Chad Connection 2030 plan.
Addressing fellow African leaders, investors, and global institutions, Gnassingbé praised the initiative as a pan-African vision of transformation rooted in sovereignty, connectivity, and endogenous investment.
“What Chad is launching today goes far beyond its borders. This is an African ambition, one that plans, invests, and connects to itself,” he said.
He emphasized four key pillars: regional integration, Sahelian development, economic sovereignty through infrastructure, and mobilizing African capital to finance Africa’s future.
Gnassingbé also proposed the creation of a coalition of African and international investors to transform the Sahel into a continental growth engine.
He reaffirmed Togo’s support for Chad’s development path, underscoring the belief that every new connection across Africa strengthens shared security and dignity.
The Togolese leader concluded by urging the international community to back Chad Connection 2030 as a promise for a connected, sovereign, and self-reliant Africa.
The forum was held in the presence of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
