Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, met on Wednesday with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation across political, economic, investment, and trade sectors.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Middle East-America Dialogue (MEAD) Summit in the United Arab Emirates, reflected the ongoing strategic partnership between the two countries. It was conducted in accordance with the directives of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, both of whom have expressed a strong commitment to deepening bilateral relations.
A significant portion of the talks focused on the Palestinian issue, particularly the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Minister Abdelatty briefed his Emirati counterpart on Egypt’s mediation efforts aimed at restoring a ceasefire and achieving a broader de-escalation. He reiterated Egypt’s commitment to facilitating a sustainable resolution and preventing further violence.
The ministers also discussed the ongoing work of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, emphasizing the importance of coordinated engagement with international actors to support the Arab plan for early recovery and the reconstruction of Gaza.
In addition to Gaza, the two leaders reviewed a range of pressing regional issues, exchanging views on current crises and security concerns. Both sides stressed the need for continued joint coordination to reduce tensions, contain conflicts, and promote regional stability.
