From US captivity to IDF strike
Israel announced Sunday that it had killed Ali Moussa Dakdouk, one of Hezbollah's most senior commanders, in a strike in southern Lebanon carried out over the weekend.

The Israeli military responded swiftly. "This is a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreements," an IDF spokesman declared.
The timing could hardly be worse. The strike comes on the very day that Lebanese and Israeli government delegations are set to open a third round of direct negotiations in Washington, talks aimed at consolidating a peace framework and moving beyond the fragile ceasefire that has held, imperfectly, since mid-April.
