The United Arab Emirates and Turkey have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing economic cooperation during the second session of the Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETCO), held in Abu Dhabi.
The high-level gathering, which follows the inaugural session in Istanbul in 2023, aimed to build on the momentum generated by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) that came into force on September 1, 2023.
The Commission covered a broad range of strategic sectors including trade finance, investment, green economy, advanced technologies, halal standards, and joint projects in third countries. Discussions also included regulatory alignment, customs cooperation, and mutual market access.
Following the official meetings, a high-level business roundtable brought together leading private sector representatives from both nations. The dialogue focused on unlocking high-potential investment opportunities and reinforcing business-to-business collaboration.
The deepening of UAE-Türkiye economic relations comes amid growing cooperation in key industries such as financial services, logistics, transport, tourism, and agriculture. The latest JETCO session marks another step forward in a fast-evolving strategic partnership between the two regional powerhouses.
