In a strongly worded message, Dr. Rafiq Halabi, a prominent Druze leader from Israel, is calling on New York voters to oppose the candidacy of Zohran Mamdani, whom he describes as a dangerous threat to the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
As the final hours of the election approach, Halabi appeals to voters in New York to take action and vote for a candidate who openly supports Israel.
“We must act in these final hours,” he wrote. “Vote for a candidate who supports Israel, the Jewish people, and the Jewish state. Any candidate who acts against us as a nation and a people must be blocked from rising to power.”
A Clear Stance Against Mamdani
Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist running for mayor, has previously accused Israel of genocide and apartheid, and has called for international efforts to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Halabi warns that such statements are deeply hostile and pose a serious danger.
“The only candidate who must not win is the socialist Mamdani,” he said. “Someone who endangers our people and seeks to bring down Israel’s leadership must be stopped immediately.”
Dr. Halabi urges voters to understand the gravity of the moment.
“We’ve faced many threats in recent years. This election is another critical test. Do not take it lightly,” he said.
“Go out and vote for someone who supports Israel proudly and publicly. Let’s not wake up tomorrow with regret.”
Dr. Rafiq Halabi is a respected Druze intellectual and community leader based in Daliyat al-Karmel, Israel. He has long been involved in public discourse surrounding Israel’s security, democracy, and Jewish-Druze relations, and is known for speaking out on issues of national importance.
