The United States appealed to Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco to take part in a peacekeeping force on the "day after" in Gaza.

The United States appealed to Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco to take part in a peacekeeping force on the "day after" in Gaza and they expressed support in principle, but demanded in return that Washington recognize a Palestinian state, the London-based Financial Times reported. 

It also reported that Saudi Arabia refused the initiative, fearing that it would be seen as "a collaborator with Israel."
