As global and regional challenges intensify, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s position as a bastion of security and peace during the 73rd Police Day celebrations held on Wednesday.

His remarks come at a time when the Middle East and North Africa region face unprecedented conflicts and widespread instability.

Addressing the audience, President Sisi emphasized that Egypt’s stability is a testament to the tireless efforts of the country’s armed forces and police. “This year’s celebration comes at a time when the world, and our region in particular, is grappling with unprecedented conflicts and challenges that devastate nations and undermine the potential of their peoples,” he stated.

Despite the turmoil surrounding it, Egypt has managed to shield itself from these crises, maintaining a secure and stable environment. Sisi credited this resilience to divine blessings as well as the unrelenting work of national security forces.

Sisi highlighted Egypt’s historical and strategic role as a sanctuary for peace and security. He referenced the country’s longstanding tradition of providing refuge, quoting the Quranic verse, “Enter Egypt, Allah willing, safe [and secure].”

A Resilient Egypt in a Turbulent Region

“Throughout the ages, Egypt has been a haven of security and peace in the region. Millions from various nationalities have chosen it as a safe refuge,” Sisi said, underscoring the nation’s geopolitical significance as a stabilizing force.

Amid rising global displacement and migration, Egypt currently hosts over nine million foreign nationals, offering them access to the same services and care as Egyptian citizens.

The president described them as “honored guests,” in alignment with religious principles and Egypt’s legal framework. This commitment further cements Egypt’s role as a humanitarian leader in the region, providing stability and support to displaced populations.

Egypt’s stability amid regional upheavals bolsters its geopolitical significance. Situated at the crossroads of the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, Egypt serves as a critical player in managing migration, countering extremism, and facilitating peace initiatives.

Its ability to remain insulated from regional conflicts enhances its credibility as a reliable partner for international stakeholders.
