The second edition of the CyberQ Conference, organised by the UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC), opens Wednesday at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi under the theme “Where Quantum, AI, and Cybersecurity Converge.” The event runs until 27 November.

Bringing together experts, policymakers and industry leaders from over 100 countries, the conference will address the growing impact of quantum computing and artificial intelligence on global cybersecurity.

Sessions will focus on AI-driven threats, defensive automation and the urgent global shift toward post-quantum security.

Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, said the conference reflects the directives of the country’s leadership and reaffirms the UAE’s ambition to be a world leader in digital security and data innovation. He stressed that quantum advancement now requires a complete rethink of traditional encryption systems.

The event will highlight breakthroughs in quantum cryptography, updated international standards, and emerging risks such as organised cybercrime.

Live demonstrations by leading institutions, including the Technology Innovation Institute, will showcase practical applications of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and quantum-resilient communications.

A major focus will be on post-classical cryptography and cryptographic agility, essential to protecting data against quantum-enabled attacks and ensuring seamless transitions to new encryption systems.

Through expert panels, applied research sessions and industry showcases, CyberQ aims to strengthen global cooperation and prepare governments and businesses for a digital future shaped by quantum capabilities.
