Abu Dhabi has reinforced its status as a regional and global healthcare leader after eight of its medical facilities were recognised in Newsweek’s Best Specialised Hospitals Middle East 2026 rankings.

Notably, five of these institutions placed in the Middle East’s top 10 across multiple medical specialties, reflecting the Emirate’s depth of clinical expertise and advanced care delivery.

At the forefront is Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, which topped the regional rankings in cardiology, gastroenterology and neurology, while securing second place in oncology. The results highlight the hospital’s strong outcomes in complex, high-acuity care and its growing role as a regional referral centre.

Four other Abu Dhabi facilities also achieved top-ten positions in specialised disciplines: Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, Burjeel Hospital and Tawam Hospital.

Their performance spans critical areas such as cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics and neurology, underscoring consistent excellence across the public and private sectors.

The list also features Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital, Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children and NMC Specialty Hospital, further broadening Abu Dhabi’s representation in specialised adult and paediatric care.

The rankings are developed in collaboration with Statista and are widely regarded as one of the most credible international benchmarks for hospital quality.

Facilities are assessed through a rigorous methodology combining peer recommendations from healthcare professionals, internationally recognised accreditations and the use of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).
