The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) has lauded the United Arab Emirates for its significant efforts at both regional and international levels to support Arab countries, particularly Palestine.

In a statement concluding the AIPU's 36th Conference in Algiers, the Union highlighted the UAE's leading role in providing humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip and its diplomatic initiatives aimed at halting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

These efforts were notably emphasized during the UAE's candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, which saw the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2720.

The AIPU also praised the UAE for its successful contribution to the adoption of a resolution in the UN General Assembly, which passed with a majority of 143 votes, advocating for the full membership of the State of Palestine and the granting of its deserved privileges in international and regional meetings. This move underscores the UAE's commitment to supporting Palestinian rights on the global stage.

Beyond its efforts in Palestine, the UAE's exceptional contributions at the Arab, regional, and international levels were commended.

The AIPU highlighted the UAE's role in addressing global issues, including its hosting of the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28). The UAE's initiatives in enhancing international efforts to tackle climate change, one of the world's most pressing challenges, were particularly noted.

The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) is a regional organization that aims to foster cooperation and collaboration among the parliaments of Arab countries.

Established in 1974, the AIPU promotes dialogue, unity, and joint efforts to address common challenges and advance the interests of the Arab world.
