Bahrain's Defence Force announced Sunday that its air defense systems had successfully intercepted and destroyed 61 missiles and 34 unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Iran against the kingdom, while warning citizens to remain indoors as the threat persists.

Bahrain's Defence Force announced Sunday that its air defense systems had successfully intercepted and destroyed 61 missiles and 34 unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Iran against the kingdom, while warning citizens to remain indoors as the threat persists.

The General Command confirmed that all defense systems remain at maximum readiness for immediate interception of any further Iranian attacks. The announcement came as Iran continued its unprecedented missile and drone campaign across the Gulf region.

A Flagrant Violation of International Law

Bahrain did not mince its words. The use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian infrastructure and private property constitutes, according to the General Command, a "grave violation of international humanitarian law », specifically the principles of distinction and proportionality. These attacks, it stressed, represent a direct threat to regional peace and security.

The kingdom reaffirmed its full right to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty.
