In light of escalating violence along the Israel-Lebanon border, China has called on its citizens in Israel to leave the country "as soon as possible.

" The Chinese Embassy in Tel Aviv issued a statement urging Chinese nationals either to return to China or seek shelter in a safe location.

"The situation along the Israel-Lebanon border is currently very tense, with frequent military clashes, and the security situation in Israel remains serious, complex, and volatile," the embassy warned in its statement.

This marks a shift in China’s stance, as previous advisories had called on its citizens to exercise heightened caution rather than leave the country.

It should be noted that China has significant economic interests in Israel while also being a close ally of Iran. Beijing is playing on all fronts.
