Louvre Abu Dhabi has welcomed a record-breaking 1.4 million visitors in 2024, marking its highest annual attendance since its grand opening in 2017.

This milestone brings the museum’s total visitor count to over 6 million, reinforcing its position as a global cultural hub and a key attraction in the UAE.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office (ADMO), this achievement reflects Louvre Abu Dhabi’s commitment to fostering cultural connections through its world-class exhibitions, educational initiatives, and immersive experiences.

The museum’s global influence is evident in its visitor demographics, with international guests accounting for 84% of total attendance. Among them, China and Russia led with 12% each, followed by India (7%), and France and the UK (6%). This diverse visitor base underscores Louvre Abu Dhabi’s international prestige while also highlighting its role as a cultural pillar within the local community.

Manuel Rabaté, Director of Louvre Abu Dhabi, described 2024 as a defining year, marking a new era of growth and maturity for the museum.

Rabaté also highlighted the museum’s role in shaping Abu Dhabi’s cultural and tourism landscape, stating that Louvre Abu Dhabi has not only contributed to but also benefited from the emirate’s exceptional tourism success.

As Louvre Abu Dhabi continues its evolution as a premier global arts destination, it also paves the way for other cultural institutions to join its mission of enriching Abu Dhabi’s dynamic arts and cultural ecosystem.
