Dubai Health has announced that more than 145 robotic surgeries have been successfully performed at Dubai Hospital since the launch of its robotic surgery programme in the second half of 2022.

The milestone reflects Dubai Health’s commitment to medical innovation and advancing quality patient care.

Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health, described the achievement as a milestone in the digital transformation of healthcare in Dubai. “It aligns with our vision to Advance Health for Humanity and our ‘Patient First’ promise,” he stated.

Dr. Yaser AlSaeedi, Head of Urology and Director of the Robotic Surgery programme, highlighted the benefits of the technology, including:

  • Over 90% reduction in blood loss
  • Faster recovery times
  • Fewer complications
  • Hospital stays reduced from two weeks to under three days

He stressed the importance of training medical staff in robotic systems, ensuring safe and effective use through both theoretical and hands-on practice.

Robotic surgeries at Dubai Health span urology, general surgery, and gynaecology, using high-precision robotic systems and minimally invasive techniques.

Surgeons operate through a control unit, guiding robotic arms with enhanced accuracy, improving outcomes and patient experiences.
