Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has welcomed the recently signed ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, marking the end of more than a year of intensive conflict and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The deal was the result of persistent and decisive mediation efforts led by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.

President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's unwavering commitment to peace in the region, highlighting Cairo's crucial role in facilitating dialogue between Israel and Hamas.

Egypt's unique position as a regional power and its longstanding diplomatic channels with Israel were instrumental in brokering the ceasefire. This agreement stands as a testament to Egypt's strategic diplomacy and its ongoing efforts to stabilize the region.

In his official statement, President El-Sisi underscored the urgent need to expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He stressed that assistance must be provided immediately and without preconditions to address the catastrophic humanitarian conditions affecting millions of civilians in the enclave. Egypt has pledged to continue supporting relief efforts and ensuring aid reaches those in need.

Commitment to a Lasting Peace

El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's dedication to achieving sustainable peace through a two-state solution. He reiterated that lasting stability, security, and development in the region depend on resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Egypt remains committed to advocating for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and supporting efforts toward a just and comprehensive peace.

"Egypt will always remain true to its promise, a supporter of just peace, a devoted partner in its pursuit, and a defender of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people," declared President El-Sisi. Cairo's consistent diplomatic engagement and proactive mediation reinforce its role as a cornerstone of regional peace and security.
