Mediators in the hostage release deal asked to give Hamas more time to respond to the latest proposal in expectation that the terror group intends to reject it, Lebanese Al Akhbar newspaper, affiliated with Hezbollah reported on Friday.

A delegation of Hamas officials is due to travel to Cairo to present "necessary changes" to the proposed deal, the paper said.

Hamas is not interested in an agreement. Hostages are its last bargaining chip and its military power is greatly degraded.
