Israel increasingly resembles an economy captured by monopolies, where a small circle of powerful interests dominates key sectors and ordinary consumers foot the bill.

The Hamas delegation left Cairo last week after talks made no significant progress.
Husam Badran cares little about the fate of the civilian population in Gaza. The less they can feed themselves, the better it is for the movement's image internationally.
It was indeed his organization that triggered the attacks on October 7th in Israel. It was his militants who murdered and raped civilians.
The Hamas is aware that the release of the hostages is the last card it has left. It is not ready to give in.
According to experts, around forty hostages are still alive.
