Haredi leader orders all ultra-Orthodox youth to refuse conscription

The head of the Slabodka Yeshiva and one of the most prominent rabbis in the Lithuanian Haredi movement, Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, in recent days ordered senior yeshiva students to talk with ultra-Orthodox youth who do not study in yeshivas and tell them not to show up for any conscription orders.

The head of the Slabodka Yeshiva and one of the most prominent rabbis in the Lithuanian Haredi movement, Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, in recent days ordered senior yeshiva students to talk with ultra-Orthodox youth who do not study in yeshivas and tell them not to show up for any conscription orders. 

According to the report on the website "Behadrei Haredim," on Tuesday night a consultation was held at the rabbi's home. 

According to those present at the talks, Hirsch demanded that no one show up at any of the recruiting offices, and also added that representatives should be sent to all yeshivas and warn the young men not to show up at all.
