Two people were killed on Friday during Israeli shelling of the border town of Houla in southern Lebanon, according to Hezbollah's television channel Al-Manar.

Two people were killed on Friday during Israeli shelling of the border town of Houla in southern Lebanon, according to Hezbollah's television channel Al-Manar. 

Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel traded fire across the Lebanon-Israel border earlier on Friday after a week-long truce between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip collapsed. 

Hezbollah is an ally of Hamas, which rules Gaza. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
