US President Donald Trump has shared with Israel the draft of an agreement set to end the war between the United States and Iran, according to The Guardian.

The deal, in the works since Sunday, has yet to be signed or officially announced despite widespread media leaks.

The draft text would reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, lift the American blockade on Iranian ports, and grant Tehran access to at least $12 billion in frozen assets.

However, cracks are emerging between the two allies.

While Washington's priorities center on Iran's nuclear programme and restoring free navigation through the Strait, whose closure has rattled global oil markets,  Israel remains focused on Iran's ballistic missile capabilities and its regional proxies, particularly Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The divergence has deepened since Trump's surprise ceasefire announcement with Iran in early April, raising questions about how closely the two allies are truly aligned on endgame strategy.
