Iran launched approximately 30 ballistic missiles at Israel since Sunday evening, an Israeli military official said Monday afternoon, in the latest escalation of the conflict between the two countries.

"They fired nearly 30 ballistic missiles toward Israel and the Houthis added two more, one of which fell short of Israel," the officer told foreign journalists on condition of anonymity.

Israeli emergency services confirmed that the barrage caused no casualties, a testament to Israel's multilayered air defence systems, which intercepted the incoming projectiles.
