Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Mohammad al-Sadeq said that Iran's retaliation following the death of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh was imminent, pro-Iranian militia-affiliated news agency Sabrin News reported on Saturday.
Al-Sadeq said, "The true promise," referring to Iran's April attack on Israel, "was a show of force – the next actions will implement that force."
The Israeli military announced it had killed Gholam Reza Soleimani, commander of Iran's Basij paramilitary organization for the past six years, in a precision airstrike carried out overnight in the heart of Tehran.
