An Israeli airstrike killed three Turkish citizens who attempted to cross illegally from Lebanon into Israel, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"We strongly condemn this unlawful attack that resulted in the death of our citizens," the ministry stated, without specifying the exact timing of the incident. The repatriation procedures for the victims' bodies are currently underway, the statement added.

The Turkish government reiterated its stance against Israel’s aggressive policies, calling for an immediate end to actions that, according to Ankara, disregard human life and escalate tensions in the region.

It remains unknown why the three Turkish nationals attempted to enter Israeli territory through such a highly sensitive and heavily militarized zone.
