Israeli warplanes launched overnight airstrikes from Thursday to Friday on the Syrian-Lebanese border, specifically targeting northern Lebanon and Syria’s Homs province.
The Israeli military claimed the strikes were aimed at illicit border crossings “used by Hezbollah” to smuggle weapons into Lebanon.
One of the primary targets of the raid was the clandestine crossing of "Wadi el-Wawiyat," located opposite Wadi Khaled. According to sources, multiple missiles were fired to destroy these illicit routes.
Despite the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, Hezbollah and Iran continue their efforts to restore a reliable supply line into Lebanon, seeking to replenish their military arsenal.
This latest Israeli operation underscores growing regional tensions as Hezbollah and its Iranian backers attempt to rearm and reinforce their presence across the region.
Israel has consistently expressed concerns over Hezbollah’s military buildup, vowing to take preventive actions against the group’s armament efforts.
This strike is part of Israel’s broader strategy to dismantle Hezbollah’s supply network and curb Iranian influence in Syria and Lebanon.
