At least 26,422 Palestinians have been reported killed and 65,087 injured in Israeli strikes on Gaza since October 7, according to a statement released by the Gaza health ministry on Sunday.

However, it is important to note that the health ministry in Gaza is closely affiliated with Hamas, and the reported figures are often viewed with skepticism as they are difficult to verify and may be manipulated for propaganda purposes.

The chaotic situation in Gaza makes it challenging to maintain an accurate count of casualties, and this raises questions about the reliability of the numbers provided.

Additionally, Hamas tends to exclude the number of militants killed in its reports, which some estimates suggest could be around 9,000.

Given these factors, it is crucial to exercise caution when interpreting and accepting casualty figures, as they may not provide a complete and impartial picture of the situation.
