Maison Margiela has always rewritten the rules of fashion. Now, the house known for its exposed seams, décortiqué tailoring, and poetic deconstruction is applying that same rebellious vocabulary to an entirely new arena: architecture.

In a bold leap beyond the runway, the avant-garde label has unveiled Maison Margiela Residences, its first-ever residential project, created in partnership with Alta Real Estate Development. Rising soon on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, the development marks a rare moment when a fashion house doesn’t just inspire architecture—it authors it.

A Living Space as Conceptual as a Garment

The project includes 25 bespoke residences, each conceived as a sculptural environment where Margiela’s codes aren’t referenced—they’re embedded.

Co-designed with Italian architect Carlo Colombo, the interiors feature exclusive, custom-made pieces—sofas, tables, lighting, and beds—all developed specifically for the building. Think:

  • travertine shapes etched with décortiqué details,
  • resin-filled surfaces that distort depth,
  • optical-white rooms that manipulate perception,
  • textures that appear unfinished yet meticulously crafted.

Every space becomes a study in reinterpretation, echoing the Maison’s lifelong fascination with transforming the familiar into the unexpected.

Luxury Through Discretion

True to Margiela’s philosophy, extravagance here is never loud. Instead, the residences offer elevated understatement, supported by a curated selection of amenities that place culture at the center of daily life.

Residents will have access to:

  • a dedicated art gallery,
  • a private library,
  • fitness studios,
  • an infinity pool,
  • a full spa,
  • and the signature Margiela Café, a quiet extension of the brand’s world.

A Regional Expansion with Global Intent

The project arrives as Margiela strengthens its footprint in the Middle East, following the recent opening of its boutique—and another Margiela Café—at the Mall of the Emirates. Together, they represent a decisive move: the Maison is no longer just designing clothes, but crafting entire lifestyles.

As Renzo Rosso, Chairman of OTB Group, says, this residential venture is “the beginning of many more to come,” hinting that Margiela is laying the foundation for a new creative chapter—one where the boundaries between fashion, architecture, and living dissolve entirely.

Maison Margiela Residences is not another luxury development in Dubai. It is a case study in how a fashion house can project its philosophy across disciplines and create a world where living itself becomes an act of artistic expression.
