A merchant vessel reported on Monday two explosions close to the ship about 14 nautical miles southwest of Yemen's Al Dhubab, British maritime security firm Ambrey said.

The report followed a statement by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency, which said it had received a report of an incident 25 nautical miles south of Yemen's port of Mokha.

It was not immediately clear whether the two incidents were related.
