The statement confirmed that the two leaders addressed advancements in the diplomatic efforts to free the hostages. "The Prime Minister discussed with the U.S. President the progress in the negotiations for the release of our hostages and informed him of the mandate he has given to the negotiating team in Doha, aimed at advancing the release of the hostages," the statement read.

The conversation highlights the continued collaboration between Israel and the United States in navigating the complex negotiations, with Qatar playing a key role as a mediator in the talks taking place in its capital, Doha.
