The United Arab Emirates delivered comprehensive aid to the Republic of Chad from 25th December 2024 to 15th January 2025.

The initiative aimed to support families affected by the recent catastrophic floods, enhance food security in severely impacted regions, and alleviate the suffering of vulnerable populations.

As part of its efforts, the UAE provided 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including:

The aid reached over 150,000 individuals, particularly those living in rural and remote areas where the devastation from the floods was most severe.

Speaking on the initiative, Rashid Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Chad, highlighted the close ties between the two nations.

Al Shamsi emphasized that these efforts reflect the legacy of the UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and align with the country’s enduring mission to provide rapid assistance to countries and communities during crises and disasters.
