Pope Leo XIV receives warm welcome from UAE leadership

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has extended his warmest congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost on his election as the new Pope and head of the Catholic Church.

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has extended his warmest congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost on his election as the new Pope and head of the Catholic Church.

In an official cable, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his sincere best wishes to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, highlighting his hopes for continued progress in fostering mutual understanding, peace, and global harmony under the new papacy.

Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, along with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, also sent separate messages of congratulations.

The messages reaffirm the UAE’s longstanding commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
