An unusual number of Israelis, approximately 82,700, left the country in 2024 amid the ongoing war, according to data released on Tuesday by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) for the start of the new year.

The CBS report also highlights the country’s international migration balance, which measures the difference between the number of people moving to Israel and those leaving.

By the end of 2024, the balance stood at a negative 18,200, reflecting a net population loss primarily driven by Israelis emigrating abroad.
