Saudi Arabia is preparing a major push to sign Egyptian star Mohamed Salah as early as the January transfer window.

The kingdom is “closely monitoring” Salah’s escalating dispute with Liverpool, which reached a new peak after the forward was excluded from the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Inter Milan.

Salah, 33, has publicly criticized Liverpool in recent days, claiming broken promises, a complete breakdown with coach Arne Slot, and hinting that next weekend’s match against Brighton could be his last for the club. His absence from the traveling squad to Milan only fueled speculation.

Saudi Arabia has attracted several high-profile players in recent years, including Cristiano Ronaldo, now 40, who joined Al-Nassr in 2023. Salah would be by far the biggest Arab signing to date and a landmark addition for the Saudi Pro League.
