Saudi Arabia’s digital leap: No.1 in MENA for government E-services

Saudi Arabia has secured first place in the Middle East and North Africa region for the third year running in the 2024 Government Electronic and Mobile Services Maturity Index, released by the UN’s ESCWA.

Saudi Arabia has secured first place in the Middle East and North Africa region for the third year running in the 2024 Government Electronic and Mobile Services Maturity Index, released by the UN’s ESCWA. 

The Kingdom achieved a 96% overall maturity rate, reflecting major strides in digital transformation.

Digital Government Authority Governor Ahmed Alsuwaiyan credited the achievement to strong leadership support, inter-agency integration, and the use of emerging technologies, including AI. 

Key sectors such as healthcare, education, and smart cities have seen marked improvements in service delivery and user satisfaction.

Saudi Arabia ranked highest among 16 countries, scoring 99% in service availability, 93% in usage and satisfaction, and 99% in public outreach. Since 2020, the Kingdom has risen steadily in the rankings, illustrating its ongoing commitment to digital excellence.
