Sisi extends support to Syria’s new interim President

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi offered his congratulations on Friday to Ahmed Al-Shara, following his recent appointment as Syria’s interim president.

The congratulatory statement came two days after Al-Shara officially assumed his new role, reflecting Egypt’s commitment to supporting stability and progress in Syria.

In a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Egyptian presidency, President Sisi expressed his hopes for Al-Charah’s success in leading Syria through its transitional period:

“I wish him success in fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people for greater progress and prosperity,” the statement read.

Sisi’s message comes at a critical time for Syria, which has faced over a decade of civil war, economic challenges, and political uncertainty. Egypt has consistently advocated for a political resolution to Syria’s crisis, emphasizing the importance of unity and sovereignty in the war-torn nation.

The appointment of Al-Shara as Syria’s interim leader marks a significant step in the country’s efforts to restructure its political landscape.
