Lebanon will host the senior Asian Alpine Ski Championships in 2028 at the Mzaar Ski Resort in Kfardebian, the Lebanese Ski and Biathlon Federation confirmed on Thursday. Exact dates have yet to be announced.
The news was first revealed by Freddy Keyrouz, president of both the Lebanese federation and the Asian Ski Federation, at the Lebanese body’s annual general assembly. He said the event would strengthen Lebanon’s standing on the Asian sporting stage and showcase its ability to host major international competitions.
It will not be a first for the Land of the Cedars. Mzaar, in the Keserwan district, already hosted the 30th edition of the championships in February 2022, when Lebanese skier Manon Ouaïss claimed the Asian titles in both slalom and giant slalom.
