News of Morocco hosting the 47th Arab Police and Security Leaders Conference comes less than a week after the country announced that it is set to hold the 93rd session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

Scheduled for 2025 in Marrakech, the event is set to bring together top-tier security officials representing Interpol’s 195 member countries.

In an official statement, the Moroccan General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) highlighted the confidence renewed by participants at the ongoing Interpol session in Vienna.

They granted Morocco the honor of hosting the Interpol General Assembly in Marrakech in 2025.

Described as the apex administrative body within Interpol, the General Assembly convenes periodically, gathering heads of law enforcement agencies from member countries.

The event focuses on assessing global security challenges, scrutinizing evolving criminal trends, and devising collective strategies to tackle them, the statement explained.

Abdellatif Hammouchi, the Director-General of Morocco’s National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST), expressed gratitude for the support of Marrakech’s bid to host the prestigious event.

Hammouchi reiterated Morocco's readiness to host, reaffirming its unwavering backing for Interpol and member countries in fostering global security and stability.

Supporting the bid was a compelling video showcasing the modernization and advancements within Moroccan security services, as revealed by DGSN.

The vote on Morocco’s bid to host the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly garnered significant acclaim, resonating with applause from member country representatives and delegates of pertinent regional and international organizations, DGSN confirmed.
