U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that the Gaza Strip should be handed over to the United States after the end of the ongoing conflict.
Posting on his social media platform Truth Social on Thursday, Trump outlined a vision in which Palestinians would be relocated to safer and more beautiful communities, while the U.S. would lead a massive reconstruction effort in Gaza.
A Vision for Gaza Under U.S. Control
According to Trump, under this plan, Palestinians would be resettled in modern communities within the region. He claimed that this would provide them with an opportunity to be "happy, safe, and free." The president further stated that, with the help of international development teams, the U.S. would carefully transform Gaza into "one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth."
He also asserted that no U.S. military presence would be required and that this plan would bring stability to the region.
Trump's statement has sparked immediate reactions and raised several questions about its feasibility and implications. Critics argue that such a plan disregards Palestinian sovereignty, ignores the deep-rooted political conflict, and lacks any clear legal or diplomatic basis.
