Iran warned President Donald Trump on Sunday that any U.S. attack would lead to Tehran striking back against Israel and regional U.S. military bases as "legitimate targets", Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf told parliament.

Donald Trump declared on Saturday that Iran "yearns for freedom" and that the United States "stands ready to help," as the protest movement against the regime gains momentum in the country, raising fears of brutal repression.

"Iran yearns for freedom, perhaps like never before. The United States stands ready to help!!!" the American president wrote on his Truth Social platform.
