Tunisian President Kais Saied set the presidential election date for Oct. 6, 2024, the presidency said in a statement early on Wednesday.

Tunisian President Kais Saied set the presidential election date for Oct. 6, 2024, the presidency said in a statement early on Wednesday.

Kais Saied has taken control of the country's main institutions. A new-look dictatorship much more stringent than that of President Ben Ali.
