The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended a message of congratulations to African countries on the occasion of Africa Day this Saturday.

"We sincerely congratulate all our African friends on the occasion of Africa Day on May 25, which marks the 61st anniversary of the foundation of the African Union, symbolizing the ideal of an integrated African continent and the desire to live together in tolerance," stated the ministry in a communiqué.

“Our relations with African countries are based on the principles of mutual respect and equality,” the statement continued. This principle resonates deeply with African states, which frequently criticize Western interference in their affairs.

Growing Turkish Presence in Africa

Turkey's presence in Africa is increasingly notable across political, economic, and military spheres. This expanding engagement underscores Turkey's strategic interest in the continent and its commitment to fostering strong, equitable partnerships with African nations.
