The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has appointed Fadhl Salem Saeed Al-Kaabi as the UAE’s new ambassador to Lebanon.
Al-Kaabi was officially sworn in on Monday, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) and the UAE’s official news agency WAM.
The UAE president also received the credentials of several ambassadors, including Tarek Mneimneh, Lebanon’s envoy to the UAE.
In parallel, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met in Abu Dhabi with Lebanese ministers Joe Saddi (Energy) and Ghassan Salamé (Culture).
Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring investment opportunities in Lebanon’s energy sector.
The move comes as relations between the two countries improve. In January 2025, the UAE announced the reopening of its embassy in Beirut, which had been closed since 2021 amid regional tensions involving Hezbollah and controversial remarks by a former Lebanese minister.
