The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has confirmed that safety inspections and required maintenance are currently underway on Airbus A320 aircraft operated by UAE national carriers, following an Emergency Airworthiness Directive (EAD) issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the global A320 fleet.
According to the GCAA, coordination with EASA and all UAE operators is ongoing to ensure full compliance with the latest airworthiness and safety requirements.
The inspections are designed to uphold the highest standards of operational safety and ensure that flights across the UAE continue without disruption.
The GCAA stated that it remains in “close coordination with EASA and concerned operators” to monitor progress and verify that every required technical procedure is completed.
The authority stressed that safety is the top priority and that regulatory oversight in the UAE ensures the swift and effective implementation of all mandatory directives.
UAE airlines have reaffirmed their commitment to applying any technical updates issued by aircraft manufacturers or aviation regulators. These include inspections, component replacements, or preventive maintenance actions linked to the EASA directive.
The GCAA highlighted that the UAE’s aviation oversight framework consistently aligns with international civil aviation standards, allowing national carriers to maintain excellent safety records and operational continuity.
The inspections will continue until all affected A320 aircraft have been cleared in accordance with the EASA directive.
