The President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, today welcomed Badruddin Maulana, Ambassador of the Islamic Government of Afghanistan to the UAE, at a meeting following the presentation of the ambassador's credentials.

During their meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed the UAE’s continued commitment to supporting the Afghan people in their pursuit of stability, development, and prosperity.

Few countries maintain formal diplomatic relations with Kabul, reflecting the international community’s reservations regarding governance, human rights, and the treatment of women and minorities under the Taliban-led government.

The UAE’s engagement with Afghanistan highlights its broader efforts to foster dialogue and provide humanitarian and developmental support to the Afghan people amid challenging circumstances.
