UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reaffirmed that empowering Emiratis and strengthening national identity remain central pillars of the UAE’s development vision, as the country marks its 54th Eid Al Etihad.

In a statement released on Monday, Al Nayan said the UAE’s progress is built on its people, calling citizens “the foundation, the driving force, and the ultimate purpose of development.”

He stressed that preserving values, ethics, national identity and the Arabic language is a shared national responsibility, particularly for institutions involved in education, culture and community development.

Highlighting recent decisions, Sheikh Mohamed noted the creation of the Ministry of Family and the expansion of responsibilities under the newly named Ministry of Community Empowerment.

He confirmed that 2025 will be the Year of the Community, followed by 2026 as the Year of the Family, reflecting the UAE’s belief that strong families are the foundation of national security and social cohesion.

The President underscored education as the country’s most valuable long-term investment. He said the UAE aims to build an education system aligned with national priorities, scientific research, talent development and lifelong learning.

“We want our youth to engage fully in global scientific and technological progress while remaining firmly rooted in their values and national identity,” he said.

Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE is moving quickly to become a global leader in science, technology and artificial intelligence, urging young Emiratis to use these tools responsibly and to pursue academic fields that support national development goals.

The President stressed the UAE’s ongoing support for peace, stability and dialogue in the region and beyond, saying the country will continue to address global challenges through multilateral cooperation. He also highlighted the UAE’s humanitarian efforts in conflict zones worldwide.

Sheikh Mohamed closed by reaffirming that the UAE welcomes all who contribute to its progress. He thanked residents for their role in the country’s development and extended congratulations to the UAE leadership and people on this national occasion.
