The U.S. military's pier off Gaza has once again been removed because of sea conditions, the Pentagon said on Friday, adding it did not make sense for it to return until aid is moved from a nearby marshalling area to people in Gaza.

The U.S. military's pier off Gaza has once again been removed because of sea conditions, the Pentagon said on Friday, adding it did not make sense for it to return until aid is moved from a nearby marshalling area to people in Gaza.
Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh told reporters the military would monitor weather conditions to determine when the pier should return, but acknowledged the marshalling area is nearly full of stockpiled aid awaiting distribution by the United Nations.
"If there's not enough room on the marshalling yard then it doesn't make sense to put our men and women out there, when there's nothing to move," Singh added.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the leaders of France, Britain and Canada of wanting to help the Palestinian militant group Hamas after they threatened to take "concrete action" if Israel did not stop its latest offensive in Gaza.
The newly established Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), backed by the United States, clarified on Wednesday that it does not intend to replace the United Nations or traditional aid organizations in Gaza, but rather to support and complement their work amid a deteriorating humanitarian crisis.
Israel allowed 100 aid trucks carrying flour, baby food and medical equipment into the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, the Israeli military said.
