The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque (Saudi Arabia) has reported that a total of 122,286,712 worshippers visited the holy sites during the month of Ramadan 1446 AH.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the breakdown includes 16,558,241 pilgrims who performed Umrah, 75,573,928 worshippers who prayed at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, and 30,154,543 visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.

To ensure smooth crowd flow and maintain safety, the authority adopted advanced sensor technology at the main entrances of the Grand Mosque. These sensors enabled real-time tracking of crowd movements, allowing for improved operational planning and coordination with relevant agencies.

The use of cutting-edge monitoring tools reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to enhance the pilgrim experience while managing one of the world’s largest annual religious gatherings.
