In a recent phone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, King Abdullah of Jordan emphasized the urgent need to stop Israeli attacks in the West Bank and called for a comprehensive truce to prevent the further escalation of conflict in the region.

This discussion comes amid heightened tensions and ongoing violence in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

According to a report from Jordan, King Abdullah expressed deep concern over the escalating violence and stressed the importance of achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He highlighted that the continuation of Israeli military actions in the West Bank could lead to a broader regional conflict, which must be avoided at all costs.

"The Israeli attacks in the West Bank must be stopped, and a comprehensive truce must be achieved to prevent the expansion of the circle of conflict," King Abdullah reportedly told Chancellor Scholz. His remarks underscore the delicate balance of power in the region and the potential for the conflict to spill over into neighboring countries if not managed carefully.

Jordan’s Stance on Regional Stability

King Abdullah also made it clear that Jordan would not allow itself to become a battleground for regional conflicts. His comments reflect Jordan’s strategic position in the Middle East and its role as a stabilizing force amid the ongoing turmoil. "We will not allow Jordan to turn into a battleground," he asserted, signaling his firm stance against any actions that could jeopardize the country’s security and sovereignty.

Diplomatic Efforts and International Support

The conversation between King Abdullah and Chancellor Scholz highlights Jordan’s active role in seeking diplomatic solutions to the conflicts in the West Bank and Gaza. By engaging with international leaders, King Abdullah aims to garner broader support for de-escalation efforts and to push for a lasting resolution that ensures the safety and security of all parties involved.

As the situation in the Middle East remains volatile, King Abdullah’s call for a truce and his warning against the potential expansion of the conflict serve as a critical reminder of the urgent need for international cooperation and dialogue to achieve peace in the region.
