Lebanon defeats Bahrain in FIBA Asia Cup 2025 qualifiers
Lebanon secured a crucial victory on Friday night against Bahrain in Group F of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 qualifiers, according to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
Bahrain clinched the title of the Arabian Gulf Football Cup, also known as Khaleeji Zain 26, after a dramatic 2-1 victory over Oman in the final match held on Saturday at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait.

Bahrain clinched the title of the Arabian Gulf Football Cup, also known as Khaleeji Zain 26, after a dramatic 2-1 victory over Oman in the final match held on Saturday at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait.
Oman took an early lead in the 17th minute, with a goal by Abdulrahman Al-Mushaifri. Bahrain, however, staged a remarkable comeback in the second half.
Mohamed Marhoon leveled the score in the 78th minute through a penalty. Just two minutes later, an own goal by Oman's Mohammed Al-Musalami sealed the victory for Bahrain.
This triumph marks Bahrain’s second Arabian Gulf Cup title, their first being in the 2019 edition.
The final match also included a ceremony honouring Gulf football legends, led by Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, adding a celebratory note to the evening.
Bahrain’s victory solidifies their position as a rising football power in the Gulf region, celebrating yet another milestone in their sporting history.
