Egypt is sweltering under a brief but intense heatwave, with the Egyptian Meteorological Authority recording a sizzling 40°C in the shade in Cairo on Sunday. But good news is just around the corner—cooler days are coming.

In Upper Egypt, the mercury has climbed even higher, peaking at 43°C in sun-drenched cities like Luxor and Aswan, where locals and tourists alike are feeling the full force of the season.

But don’t sweat it—literally. Starting Monday, a sharp temperature drop is expected. Cairo’s highs will settle between 31°C and 33°C for the rest of the week, bringing welcome relief to the capital’s overheated residents.

The North Coast, including Alexandria and Matrouh, is already enjoying milder conditions. Today’s highs of 31°C are set to dip to a refreshing 25°C by Wednesday, before nudging up to a pleasant 29°C on Friday.

In northern Upper Egypt, home to Fayoum and Minya, temperatures will hover between 32°C and 37°C. Meanwhile, southern Upper Egypt will start to cool off gradually, reaching 37°C by Thursday.

So if you’ve been melting these past few days, hang tight: cooler, breezier weather is on its way.

Stay hydrated, wear light clothes, and make the most of the coming cool-down!
